Bar-Be-Que Wednesday June 16th 2004
Bob Allan and Kim Smith organized a Bar-Be-Que at the Allan homestead in Meaford on the two year anniversary of Greg's accident. Many of Greg's friends, best friends, and family popped in and out all afternoon. Inside this album are only a few photos of the afternoon. I didn't feel like taking pictures, I rather just enjoyed being in the moment than recording the moment...

I'm Korean
TUESDAY, JUNE 18th 6 pm: I needed a break. Both South Korea and Turkey won their respective World Cup Soccer matches earlier in the day. The long stretch of Bloor Street between Christie and my street of Spadina had become a daylong gridlock of Turkish and South Korean Flags and Fans and Gongs and Drums and Carhorns and People Whistling, Laughing, Cheering.

I lose myself in the crowd. For the rest of the evening, I'm Korean.

SMOG
THURSDAY MORNING circa 7 am: TheWeatherNetwork morning show says it's 12 degrees Celsius. By midday it should be over 30 C. That coupled with the first SMOG advisory of the season and it looks to be a disgustingly bad air day.

I look out my high-rise window. A thick layer of brown is hovering above Mississauga all the way west to the Niagara escarpement with Hamilton inbetween. SMOG sucks.

Owen Sound Ontario June 20 2002
This is the biggest Roman Catholic church in the Owen Sound area. It had to be, because as I would learn once inside, Greg came from families that could be classified as 'Tribes'. Inside are just a few pictures, but they're important. To see MORE better pictures, PLEASE visit Florin's Online Photo Gallery by clicking HERE.

Meaford
After The funeral service for Greg Allan aka Adam_Baum was completed in Owen Sound, Greg's family invited me to Meaford. They were have a Lunch in Celebration of Greg's Life. How could I say no? After that The Allan and Beacock families invited me to spend the afternoon in Meaford. They showed me a few places of importance in Greg's life and we ended up at Kim's parents' dinner table where we all celebrated Greg's Life one last time.

The Party
Four years ago, Greg Allan borrowed his dad's old disco clothes and got dressed up to attend a 70's disco theme party. It was at this party that Greg met his Sweetheart, Kim Smith, for the first time. World's Largest Meaford Gasbar and Charm School
Greg's Place of Work, Business, and Code.
This is where Greg coded the core of the PostNuke Content Management System in between pumping gas for customers.
After Greg's accident, many of those same customers, who Greg took care of, visited the Gasbar and expressed their condolences to Dave Shaw that they too had lost a friend.
If it wasn't for the 'World's Largest Meaford Gasbar and Charm School' there may not have been a 'Greg Allan' in 'The PostNuke Project'.

Program Pages
As the Afternoon of Thursday June 20 2002 became early evening, it was time to take leave of Greg's Family and begin my three hour drive back to Toronto.
Before leaving the Kitchen Table Talk, Kim asks if I have one of 'These?'

It was a program from the Funeral service.

Having arrived late in Owen Sound, I missed getting one. It was the first time I'd seen it, and realized that Greg Allan had not died in Meaford, rather he was here in Toronto, my own hometown, at one of the best trauma hospitals in the province.
As a matter of record to those who'd appreciate reading the program, I include photos I took of it here.
Please forgive the blurriness, it's the best I can do at the moment.

Bikes
NONE OF THESE Kawasaki Motorcycles belong to Greg Allan.
Myself NOT being a biker, I thought maybe there are fellow PostNukers who also needed to 'picture' Greg's Bike in their mind.
So, these are a few EXAMPLEs of the Bike that Greg may have rode.
His mom showed me a photo of Greg's actual Kawasaki, and my small collection here shows the closest colour scheme that I can remember of Greg's Bike from that one picture.
Whenever I get a chance to post a REAL photo of Greg's Motorcycle, I hope to add it here.
In the meantime, rev your engines! Ready? Set? DoubleClick!

York Cemetary
POSTSCRIPT: On Friday July 12 2002, I still was frustrated with finishing Greg's Article. I found myself driving around Toronto and ended up here, at the Muslim section of the York Cemetary.
I did NOT have my camera with me, but Last year on April 9 2001, I took THESE photos of the Graveyard. I'm including the photos here, just in case anyone was wondering about this part of my 'PostScript' story.
Inside, the '1115' photos are where Irving Brock, my 74 year old friend, who passed away in 1996 is buried.
On Friday July 12 2002 I visited him and told him about Greg Allan...and the Toronto Maple Leafs too!
Friday June 27th 2003: I revisited York Cemetary and added a few photos. It was sunny...
